Frequently Asked Questions

Q: What is the major benefit for me to use New Start?

A: New Start will increase fuel efficiency, horsepower and oil pressure. Along with preventing dry cold starts; which will prolong the life of your machinery and decrease costly downtime and costs for part replacement. It adds protection in final drives, gearboxes, hubs, differentials and elsewhere; it reduces heat buildup.

Q: How do I use New Start Oil Stabilizer in my vehicle?

A: It is recommended that you add the Oil Stabilizer with every oil change (25% New Start). You may also use the stabilizer to top off between oil changes in order to help reduce oil consumption in an older engine, or maintain peak performance in a new engine. In addition to being great for your engine, you can also mix it 25% in the transmission and 50% in the differential.

Q: How does New Start work?

A: New Start is produced using 100% petroleum blended oils from a variety of refineries. It consists of long carbon-chain oils, which give New Start its amazing climbing and clinging properties. New Start will not run off after the engine has been shut down leaving a protective layer of oil to prevent dry cold starts. Despite New Start's clinging action, oil treated with New Start is slicker than untreated oil.

Q: How does New Start conserve oil consumption and help protect the environment?

A: New Start seals the cylinder to stop oil from entering the combustion chamber and being burnt up. New Start keeps the heat and contaminants of the combustion chamber from going into the oil, keeping the oil cleaner. New Start reduces blow by and helps clean exhaust of worn engines - diesel or gas.

Q: Where can I use New Start? In my Transmission? In my engine, diesel or gas?

A: You can use New Start with any oil, mineral or synthetic. We recommend adding New Start, 10% in automatic transmissions and 25-50% in standards, each time you change your transmission fluid or adding the amount needed to your current fluid to fix a small leak. However, if you need friction to engage gears, as in some new rigs, you should not use New Start in these, as it will provide too good a lubrication and enough friction will not occur. New Start Oil Stabilizer blends with any petroleum-based or synthetic oil, and is formulated for gasoline or diesel engines.

Q: If you get your stock oils from the major refineries, why don’t they leave these oils in or sell them directly to us?

A: Some less useful bi-products in the crude oil are found between the lower and higher carbon length oils. The process for removing these results in the removal of the good oils used to blend New Start. Refineries could replace these but the process would be more costly, resulting in them having to increase the price of their base oils. While this would produce better quality, it would mean having to price themselves higher than their competitors. So, they sell these “good by-products” separately. You could buy them directly, but you would need to buy in quantities that you don’t necessarily need. Companies like New Start make specialty blends of several of these ingredients, each with their contributing properties.

Q: How used should my machine be before I can start it?

A: You don't have to have a specific amount of wear before you start using New Start. Your engine will last much longer. Some even use it in new vehicles.

Q: Doesn't using New Start make the oil too thick in colder weather?

A:  Actually, because your gears have retained oil at shutdown it takes less energy to turn over than using just a regular oil.
